These two underwater mines draw from the imaginaries ofdystopian futures, in which what is now submerged willbe on land and inhabited places will be under the sea. Myaim is to induce a sense of displacement and nostalgia fora time never lived, giving two abandoned mines the statusof monuments from a dismal future. As a matter of fact, thetitle is a reference to a sci-fi television series from the 1960s,in which due to pollution, marine animals began to mutateinto monstrous creatures.
